Alexis Duque (Colombian) is an artist living and working in New York. He studied at the University of Antioquia, Medellin, Colombia, the School of Fine Arts of Antioquia, Medellin, Colombia, and The Art Students League, New York. He composes his work using only a few colors, packing each area of the surface with carefully considered details. Drawing elements from ancient Greek and Roman architecture, he illustrates that these elements are symbols of ruling cultures of the past and served as the aesthetic model for European colonizers so evident in Latin America today.
