Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell's work is a collusion between art and science. Based on nature's sculptured forms Campbell "introduces new definitions of the organic and the synthetic through fragmented objects and hybridized systems, that follow the concepts and connotations of natural systems. As an interdisciplinary artist, she has also pioneered new directions in three-dimensional stained glass and watercolor. Acting as a potent, visually arresting mnemonics, Campbell’s installations and sculptures harness the physics of light, space, time and perception to reveal the insidious effects of human interference in natural processes.” - Jonathan Goodman Sculpture magazine December 2017.

Her recent work with Columbia University’s neuroscience lab and its studies with genetic engineering has helped her expand her ongoing investigation into the role of perception in engineering our food and the concerns surrounding global food crisis and sustainability. Campbell's resulting work explores the fear, loss, power and fragility in our lives and the natural world.
